Fun facts about Wesley’s family: His dad, Jonathan, is a huge St. Louis Cardinals fan (hence the baseball photo — Go Cards!), and his mom and I actually went to law school together, although we didn’t really even know each other at the time.
Small world, huh?
By the way, how stinking adorable is Bennett in his little Yoda hat?! His parents, Kate and Brad, are big Star Wars fans and ordered this hat especially for his newborn session.
Speaking of Star Wars… Bennett has a super cute orange, white, and gray Star Wars-themed nursery. Since he arrived early, it wasn’t quite finished at the time of his photo shoot, but several awesome details were already in place. I am particularly fond of the artwork. 🙂
Caroline is such a proud big sister. I just love how focused she is in this photo!
Jessica and Jonathan, thank you for choosing me to photograph your beautiful family. I had such a wonderful time, and it was so much fun to meet Wesley and Caroline. I look forward to working with you again soon! 🙂
Kate and Brad, thanks so much for choosing me to take Bennett’s photos. It was wonderful meeting you all, and I am so looking forward to watching your little guy grow over the coming year. See you soon!
NAILED IT! We even managed to catch that sleepy little newborn smile. 🙂
And of course, we snuck in a few photos for Chris and Kat.
We also got some great photos of Wesley and his family. I love these sweet shots of him with his Mommy!
Bennett was not particularly excited about posing for us, so we started with some family photos first. 🙂
Bennett is another one of my newborns who just couldn’t wait to have his photos taken — he took his mom and dad entirely by surprise and arrived nearly three weeks early! Luckily, his parents and I were able to rearrange our schedules so I could photograph him while he was still brand-new and squishy. 🙂
After a few rounds of candid photos, Bennett was ready for his close-up.
I was really excited when Wesley decided to sleep during part of our session. The last several newborns I photographed stayed awake the entire time! Which is no problem, of course, but doesn’t let us get adorable sleepy shots… like these.
Lilah (age: 2.5 years) wasn’t feeling the posed family photos, so Kat and James thought they would try some jumping shots. Lilah did a great job, but definitely jumped to the beat of her own drum. 😉
Well, its official… fall has finally arrived in Columbia, Missouri! This past weekend gave us some beautiful fall weather, which happily coincided with our seasonal family photo session swap with the Fishman-Weaver family.
This time, we met up at the Twin Lakes Recreation Area in Columbia, Missouri, for some family photos in the gorgeous fall leaves.
In addition to his amazing nursery, Bennett also had several sentimental items for his newborn photos: a cradle that has been passed down through Kate’s family for multiple generations, and a special quilt that Brad’s mother made just for Bennett.
Just check out this little sweetie. Only six days old, and already so handsome. 🙂
