Layla’s older brother and sister—Logan and Anna—were so beautiful in the sibling shots. The shots of all three of them are also some of my favorites from this shoot. As a mother of 2 myself, I know that we adore  those newborn pictures but that every mom & dad wants that perfect image of all her kids!

Thank you so much to Layla’s mom and dad for choosing me to be their photographer and as always thank you for stopping by to take a look at this beautiful session.  If you are looking for a Quakertown PA Newborn Photographer, be sure to check me out!  If you are planning to book a session, please be sure to pre-book . . . especially those newborns!  It is SO important, I have already starting booking as far out as this fall!  It breaks my heart to have to tell someone that I don’t have a session available for them. You can easily contact me by using the contact tab at the top of this page or phone me at 215-896-9661.

We definitely worked hard to get those sibling shots, though. Logan was a trooper, and Layla was a champ, but toddler Anna hadn’t had her nap yet, and boy, did she give us a run for our money! We ended up rescheduling for another day with an actual “Sibling Session Add-On”, this way Anna was able to come when it was best for her schedule – these sessions are something I strongly advise to parents who have young toddlers.  The final images turned out beautiful!  After the session, here is the feedback mom had for other parents:

Mom talked about the kids’ reaction to their new baby sister’s arrival: “We did not know what we were having . . . . We have one of each, so we knew either would be a blessing. We thought that we were having a boy, though, and so did our doctor. Dad told the operating room that she was a girl, and Logan announced it to our family. At first, Logan was bummed that it was a girl, but now he adores his sister! Anna told her friends that “baby boy Layla” had arrived. She adores her sister too!”

“Also, for your newborn- book right after birth!  Don’t wait.  At 3 weeks our sweetie developed baby acne as many infants do.  It’s clearing up now but I am so glad we did her shots right away.”

“Words of Wisdom re timing with siblings … Be very aware of your siblings schedule and consider booking the sibling session.  Our darling 2 year old missed her nap and as a result, she refused to even put on her dress.

We had to reschedule those shots.  After get nap, she was a different child and the pictures were beautiful! ”

I also had to laugh when she added this to her “advice”, since I tell parents this all the time.

“Layla—you complete us! You truly do. We are so blessed to have you in our family, and we cannot wait to experience every moment with you in our lives! You are the piece of the puzzle that links us together. Mommy, Daddy, Logan and Anna adore you more than we can put into words!!!!”

Thank you, Melissa & Mike, for trusting me to photograph your beautiful family, and thank you for coming back to get the perfect sibling shot when Anna was feeling more like herself! I loved getting to be with you all and hope to see you again soon!

At the beginning of May, little Miss Layla came to me 8 days after she was delivered at Grand View Hospital. Mom and Dad were so excited to welcome baby number three to their family—and I was excited to photograph this wonderful family!

Finally, Mom has a message to little Layla from the whole family:

Layla was an absolute joy to have in the studio. Mom and Dad did the perfect prep, so she slept beautifully for me . . . until she woke up to, shall we cay “christen” my favorite pink blanket! But she was so cute I forgave her anyway! My favorite shots of her have to be the overhead fur ones. The fur is new to the studio, and I really like how it looks.

New child photography will be exceptionally challenging , not solely because the fashions can are usually a little uncooperative, but additionally because of the reality they spend lots of time sleeping and very little time smiling. This text has a few hints and suggestions that should hopefully show you how you can photograph newborn babies and make sure that you end up with a shot that the household will want to treasure forever.

The lighting of your shot might be especially important. You don`t need to go exposing newborn eyes to brilliant flash bulbs, so attempt to take images in circumstances which might be naturally bright when photographing newborns. Increase the ISO and exposure compensation in your camera in low light ranges , but test to make it possible for the image doesn`t grow to be too grainy as a result.

You`ll want to contemplate the angles at which you take your shots. It can be very easy to fall into the behavior of at all times shooting from above, so before long you will have an album stuffed with pictures trying down at the child. Strive getting down on the same stage as the newborn, and permit them to fill the complete body of your photo.

Focus on some of the smaller facets of their face, or on a single hand or foot to get some really interesting macro shots. It`s often an concept to keep your digital camera on a steady taking pictures mode, as a baby `s expression can change extremely quickly. Take quite a lot of pictures for each setup, and hopefully you will be left with one perfect one. Digital photography permits you delete any unwanted shots.

Keep in mind that these images are being taken to capture the moment and to look again on in years to come. Think of what pictures and reminiscences you want to preserve. If there`s any item or toy that performs an necessary part of their early days, capture it. The family shot is all the time a favourite ; so ensure you get certainly one of each mum and pa with the baby. Another basic photographs to consider are ones with the baby `s hand or foot in its mother `s hand to emphasize the difference in size , or pictures of the mother nursing capture the intimacy of the relationship.

By following these newborn photography tips you will be able to improve your photography abilities and end up with pictures worth trying again on many years from now.
