Michele says: ” Early Years Photographer specialising in Newborn Baby photography. Safety is my main priority!” She qualified as a Photographer at Carnegie College, Dunfermline then went on to complete my newborn & early years training with some of the UK’s finest photographer’s & now continuing to train at The Newborn Art Academy. She has invested in my career to ensure you get the most from your sessions so you can invest in art you will treasure forever. Photographing Children just lightens up her day, capturing those special times in the first few years of life… Newborn, sitting up, crawling, toddlers and 1st birthday’s or any birthday capture it with timeless images you will treasure forever.
From fingers to toes, eyelashes to their nose, when you’re little bundle of joy arrives you don’t want to miss out on our newborn photoshoot to capture all the little details perfectly. They would recommend booking you and your little bump in around your 20 week scan for their newborn shoot. They understand that sometimes your baby may be slightly early or late so they can always reschedule your newborn shoot if need be. To guarantee the best type of newborn shots they would recommend the best time to have your shoot is when your newborn is 4 – 12 days old as they are still curly and cuddly. They have everything you need to capture your newborn perfectly, using different textiles and tones from props, blankets and hats to compliment your baby’s skin.
Based in Lochgelly Fife Sara specialises in children, families, maternity and babies. She loves creating natural images that reflect a child’s personality. She encourages customers to bring their own props, anything that will make your portraits extra special! It is important to her that when you come for a studio session you have fun.
Their newborn photography captures this special time in a way that is unique to each baby. They use a variety of small baby props such as mini cots, blankets, small cases, baskets and towels and gently dress your baby in hats, headbands and clothing that will give the ” aww factor” as well as smiles. Their Newborn Photography sessions are very much relaxed. With plenty of time taken to ensure your baby is comfortable and secure. Their sets are pre-made so its a simple case of just moving your little one from one set to another. If your baby is not comfortable or unhappy then we stop the session until they are ready again, this means we have to allow up to two hours per session to cover such things.

Kirsty is a multi award winning professionally qualified Photographer based in Fife. She feels she is very blessed to have such a wonderful career. Working with clients she really invests her time into events coming up with creative and beautiful life long lasting images. Kirsty prefers to work in a relaxed, natural fashion so you do not feel under pressure to pose for dozens of formal posed shots but these can of course be factored into your day if desired I also love outdoor shoots we live in such a beautiful country I love being able to combine my love for the outdoors and amazing images.
My approach to newborn and baby photography is all about documenting them in very simple poses that are baby-led, which means allowing them to be in the positions they find most comfortable. I think newborns and babies are perfect just as they are, so I photograph them against plain and cosy backdrops in a minimalist style, without the use of props. Your baby is my guide for the session, meaning each shoot is totally unique and I love it! I try to avoid fussy colours or awkward looking posing by sticking to gorgeous creams and natural colours.

It is a big decision who you chose to photograph and handle your newborn! Don’t rush it, it is best to look and book while you are still pregnant. Your wedding photographer might not be the best choice even you LOVED your wedding photos (unless they specialise in wedding and newborn photography). Think about style of photographs you see on the website (do you love a lot of props around baby? baby in costumes? or more natural photographs? Do you prefer having photographer come to your home so you don’t have to rush? or do you believe that professional work is only done in the studio? Consider personality of the photographer, quality of their work and products, as well as your budget vs. prices.
Newborn photography is a very demanding specialization. Not only it requires good technical knowledge but it also takes a LOT of safety training. I have worked as a newborn photographer for 4 years and I was blessed with a chance of holding and photographing many tiny, fragile and precious babies.
I’m Kirsty and I get to call photographing tiny humans and babies my job, which is pretty sweet really!
