family portraits with your baby/newborn, children or grandparents by mark anderson, your glasgow-based photographer
Being based in Glasgow I have easy access to all of central Scotland.
After the photo shoot, I will edit a selection of the best shots for you to view and you only pay for the prints that you want to purchase. You can choose from framed prints, canvas wraps or high quality mounted and framed prints. My mounted and framed prints are of the highest quality and you can choose the style, size and colour of frame to suit your home decor as well as the colour of the mounting card. Alternatively, you can purchase all of the edited images on a USB, which would come inside a customised presentation case.
If you are like most families, you probably don’t have a family portrait with baby or of your whole family. Why don’t you get in touch for a eye-catching and iconic picture of you and your family to put up pride of place above your fireplace?
The only problem with that is that everyone’s pictures look the same. I have over ten years’ experience in working as a press photographer for all of the national papers. As a result, I have lots of experience in taking creative and interesting pictures using whatever I find in the environment around me
For family portraits or family photography, Glasgow and Edinburgh are fantastic. I am, however, available to travel all over Scotland, so if you want a nature aspect to the family portraits, this can also be done.
The best family and baby portraits are taken outside where there are no walls, making it easy for a family to have a fun personal time together. The results are great, relaxed and candid shots. Check out my gallery for examples.
I hate boring, stiff, posed shots, which is why I like to get people outside. That way you can get kids running around playing and enjoying themselves. If they have a favourite bike, scooter, football or skateboard you can bring that as well to get some action shots. Family photography is meant to be fun and interesting, giving you a selection of photographs that will be cherished forever.
Shoots can take place in the studio, at your home, or outdoors in a location of your choice.
Cloudy overcast days make amazing black and white pictures. It doesn’t matter if It’s cold either because I hate boring stiff posed shots, I always get people moving and running around so you won’t get cold. I would never expect a whole family to stand out in the rain but a kid in a bright rain coat and wellies jumping in a puddle would make a great shot. For a family photo shoot, Glasgow is a fantastic city with some beautiful architecture that can be utilised as a backdrop.

Having seven years experience working for the national press, one area I specialise in is taking portraits of people. This can include family portraits with baby, child portraits and actor head shots, as well as pictures to be used in social media profiles.
You’re probably thinking why would you take a family portrait outside in Scotland. The reason is that all but the worst wind and rain are great. Sunny days make fantastic colour shots, especially in the morning and at dusk.
One thing I love to photograph is people outdoors. This is because of the endless opportunities for great pictures that it offers as you can use the environment around to be really creative. Most people automatically go to their local photography studio to get a family portrait taken.
